You’ve gotten the email. “Dear Dr. <LastName>…” A recruiter who didn’t even bother to fill in your name.

If you haven’t, here’s what they look like:

“Hi Dr. [LastName]” — at least Oregon sounds nice.

Sound familiar? Every physician has an inbox full of these. Vague promises, missing details, template fields left blank. It tells you exactly how the market sees you: interchangeable.

That’s where the name comes from. Dr<LastName> — the placeholder they couldn’t be bothered to fill in. And <> means not equal to. Because doctors are not all the same. Your training may be standardized, but you are a human being who deserves a career that fits you — not just the next open slot a recruiter needs to fill.
